Made with freeze-dried blueberries and dried blueberries and topped with cinnamon streusel!

This week I decided to make a riff on the classic blueberry muffin by incorporating its key features into challah! I went for a round braid so that the challah alluded to a muffin's round shape and included two types of blueberry mix-ins to really get that flavor embedded in the dough.

Like a raisin challah, I mixed dried blueberries into the dough before braiding. I also pulverized freeze-dried blueberries into a powder and kneaded it into two of the strands to aesthetically add more blueberry (in addition to pump up the blueberry flavor). Because streusel creates a rather hard coating on top of the challah, I chose to randomly top sections of the dough with it so that the blueberry-speckled strands would be visible. You can also use any other dried and freeze-dried fruit in place of blueberries!

Tip: If you happen to have any leftover blueberry muffin challah (which is highly unlikely, given how delicious it is!), it is perfect to use for french toast or bread pudding!
