Cakey, calming, and perfect for fall!

I am a major advocate of CBD; I find it calming and a wonderful non-traditional means of medicinally treating anxiety, stress, and pain. I am an affiliate for Happy Buddha Hemp, a CBD company based in Colorado. What I love about their products is that they are 100% organic and natural and utilize Spagyric Extraction in their developmental process. Spagyric Extraction, a method that allows for a greater extraction of the properties of the leaf than other extraction methods, is what makes Happy Hemp Buddha unique, as many other CBD companies do not employ it and therefore may not have products with as many benefits as Happy Buddha Hemp's!
IMPORTANT NOTE: CBD is NOT psychoactive!
One of the reasons why this recipe requires a 325 °F set oven heat oven is because if heated above a certain temperature, CBD's THC (psychoactive) elements are activated. Therefore, do not worry about getting "high" off of these treats!! They will not alter your mental state and are solely used for their calming, healing properties. If you want to learn more about Happy Hemp Buddha or CBD in general, check out Happy Buddha Hemp's website or message me through my blog's messaging system!

Fluffy Spiced Orange CBD Cookies
Makes 8; 10 mg CBD each*
Ingredients
2 tbsp softened butter
3 tbsp white sugar
1 egg
1/4 tsp vanilla
Juice of ½ an orange
Zest of ½ an orange
1 tbsp honey
80 mg Happy Buddha Hemp CBD tincture**
1/8 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
⅛ tsp cloves
½ tsp nutmeg
1 c + 2 tbsp AP flour
1/4 tbsp powdered sugar
½ tsp+ vanilla almond milk
¼ tsp nutmeg
Directions
Preheat the oven to 325 °F and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cream together the butter and sugar.
Add in the egg, vanilla, orange juice, orange zest, honey, and CBD. The mixture may seem curdled, but it's not- just try to get it as smooth as possible.
Add in the salt, baking soda, flour (adding more or less flour depending on how sticky your dough is), cloves, and nutmeg.
Once your dough is formed, wrap it in plastic wrap and place it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
Divide the dough into 8 portions, rolling each into a ball. Spread the dough balls a good distance apart on the baking sheet (they shouldn't really spread so much, as these are cakey cookies; this is more of a preventative measure).
Bake for 10 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies start to become a soft, golden brown.
While the cookies cool, combine the powdered sugar, vanilla almond milk, and nutmeg in a bowl until you achieve a smooth, slightly thick icing. Do not add too much almond milk; add any additional almond milk sparingly or your icing will become super runny. If it does become too runny, add more powdered sugar.
Place your cookies face down in the icing to coat.
Allow the icing to slightly set (2-5 minutes) before enjoying!
Notes
*It is extremely important that the entire mixture is evenly mixed and divided into 8 cookies so that the amount of CBD in each cookie is as accurate as possible.
