Homemade Za'atar Spice Mix | Garlic Za'atar Challah

For a Middle Eastern spice blend that is citrusy, herbal, and delicious.

You can use Za'atar on fish, chicken, vegetables, or even in challah (as pictured above). To create Garlic Za'atar Challah, I filled the dough with minced garlic and rolled half of the strands in Za'atar before braiding. Homemade Za'atar Spice Mix

Ingredients
1/2 tbsp dried thyme
1/2 tbsp dried oregano
1 tbsp cumin
1 tbsp coriander
1.5 tbsp sesame seeds (optionally toasted)
1 tbsp sumac
1/2 tsp salt
optional: 1/4 tsp dried red pepper flakes
